Story
On 21 October next, I will be taking part in the Bowral Classic cycling event, as part of the Rare Cancers Australia team. I will be donning my lycra and sweating it out for 90 kilometres, up and down the hills and dales of the Southern Highlands.
Rare Cancers Australia is a charity which aims to improve the lives and health outcomes of Australians living with rare or less common cancers. I hope to raise funds for RCA through my participation in the event.
According to the RCA website, in 2017 an estimated 52,000 people were diagnosed with rare or less common cancers and 25,000 sadly did not survive.

Rare Cancers Australia Ltd
Rare Cancers Australia Ltd (RCA) is a charity whose purpose is to improve awareness, support and treatment of Australians with rare and less common (RLC) cancers. Every year there are over 42,000 diagnoses of RLC cancers and around 24,000 deaths.
As distinct from common cancers (breast, prostate, bowel, lung and melanoma) there is very little patient support offered to RLC cancer patients. RCA works tirelessly to ensure that this cancer group, will never be forgotten or ignored again.
